How Katyayini Mills started, what it makes today, and why Kashipur.
Katyayini Mills is a paper manufacturer based in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, supplying copier paper, notebooks, registers and kraft paper to distributors, converters and institutional buyers across India.
The name comes from Katyayini, a warrior form of the goddess Durga — strength directed toward a protective purpose. It's the same idea behind the mill: industrial strength put to work remaking waste paper into sheet a bulk buyer can rely on.

Life at the mill
The mill makes room for more than paper.
The grounds at Kashipur are shared — with the dogs that live on the premises and the cows in our gaushala. Looking after them is part of how the mill is run.

We run a gaushala at the mill, home to cows from Kashipur and the surrounding villages. It's a small commitment next to the scale of the mill, but it's one we keep.
