Sustainability
Conservative figures. Stated methodology.
What Katyayini Mills does, plainly stated — nothing published without an approved basis.
Katyayini Mills runs on recovered paper, not virgin pulp cut for the purpose — sourcing, grading and processing waste paper into finished sheet. We don't cut forests; we remake paper.
We publish only what we can show our working for. Figures on this page carry their basis and period; where we don't yet have an approved figure, we say so rather than estimate one.

Resource use
Water
Water use through the pulping and forming stages is monitored and recirculated where the process allows.
Energy
Energy use on the mill floor is tracked stage by stage as part of routine operations.
Waste
Process waste doesn't leave the mill as waste. Pulp press sludge — over 60 MT of it a day — is upcycled into calcium carbonate for industrial use and moulded into egg trays, so what would be a disposal cost elsewhere becomes a second product line here.

Sourcing & people
Raw material is recovered paper, sourced and graded before it enters the mill. The share of recycled content stated for any product line reflects what that line actually contains — nothing is rounded up. Recovered fibre also doesn't stop at one life: the same batch of paper can pass through several cycles of recovery and remaking before it's spent.
The mill employs people from Kashipur and the surrounding area across intake, mill floor and dispatch operations.
Methodology
Every figure on this page will state its calculation basis, the period it covers and its source once approved by Katyayini Mills. No figure is published without that basis.
